Leadership
Lindi Mwambao Cooperative Union (LMCU) Ltd is a primary cooperative union registered in Lindi Region (Registration No: AFF-LND-LND-MC-2023-24), bringing together smallholder farmers of cash crops such as cashew, pigeon peas and sesame. The union was established to help members access better markets, extension services, and opportunities to add value to their crops.
Vision: To be a leading cooperative union in improving the livelihoods of farmers in Lindi Region through sustainable production and better agricultural markets.
Mission: To provide effective cooperative services to members through transparency, accountability and collaboration, so as to increase incomes and improve the livelihoods of the farming community.
LMCU works with its members, the Warehouse Receipt System Board, Shirecu Limited, the Lindi Regional Government, and other financial and government institutions to ensure members benefit fully from the union's activities.
The union is led by a Board of Directors elected by the members, with day-to-day operations overseen by the General Manager and senior management staff. See leadership names on the Leadership page.
